Troubleshooting Tips
If something doesn’t look quite right, here are a few things you can check.
Trip Detection
Trips Aren’t Being Detected
If your trips aren’t being detected, it’s usually because there isn’t enough information in your photos.
Tripix relies on location data stored in your photos. If location services were turned off when the photos were taken, they may not include the data needed to identify trips.
You can also try increasing your Sensitivity Level or re-scanning your photo library.
Location Data
Photos Have No Location Data
Some photos may not include location information.
This can happen if:
- Location services were disabled
- The photo was edited or exported
- The image was downloaded from another source
Without location data, Tripix cannot determine where the photo was taken.
Trip Accuracy
Trips Look Incorrect
If a trip doesn’t look quite right, it may be due to gaps or inconsistencies in your photo data.
For example, missing timestamps or locations can affect how photos are grouped.
You can always review and adjust your trips before confirming them to ensure everything looks right.
Home Location
Home Location Issues
If Tripix is detecting trips incorrectly, your address history may need updating.
Your home location is used to determine whether a photo was taken “at home” or “away”.
Make sure your address history is accurate and covers the correct time periods.
Sensitivity
Sensitivity Feels Off
If too many trips are being detected, try lowering your Sensitivity Level.
If not enough trips are being detected, try increasing it.
This setting controls how far from home you need to travel before something is considered a trip.
Scanning
Scanning Takes Time
Scanning your photo library can take time, especially if you have a large number of photos.
Processing happens on your device to protect your privacy, which means it may take longer than cloud-based services.
You can leave the app open while scanning completes.
Permissions
Permissions Not Working
If Tripix isn’t working as expected, check your permissions.
Make sure the app has access to:
- Photos
- Location (if required)
You can update permissions at any time in your device settings.
