Photo Access
Photo Access
Tripix needs access to your photo library to understand where and when your photos were taken.
We only use metadata stored within your photos, such as location and time. Your photos themselves are never uploaded or shared.
If access is not granted, Tripix won’t be able to automatically detect trips for you.
How it works
How Your Photos Are Used
Your photos are analysed on-device to identify patterns in location and time.
This allows Tripix to group photos into trips, calculate distances travelled, and generate insights about your journeys.
Everything happens locally on your device — your data stays with you.
Automatic Trip Detection
Automatic Trip Detection
When enabled, Tripix automatically scans your photos to detect trips.
It looks for clusters of photos taken away from your home location and groups them into potential trips for you to review.
You’ll always be asked to confirm trips before anything is finalised.
Re-scan
Re-Scan Photo Library
If you’ve recently added new photos or updated your settings, you can re-scan your library at any time.
This will reprocess your photos and update any detected trips and insights.
Depending on the size of your library, this may take a little time.
Camera Access
Camera Access
Tripix may request access to your camera to allow you to capture photos directly within the app.
Photos taken using the camera can be included in your trips, just like those from your library.
Privacy
Privacy & Control
Your privacy matters.
Tripix does not upload your photos or personal data to external servers. Everything is processed and stored locally on your device.
You can change photo permissions at any time in your device settings.
